About Louan

“Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish that they are after.”
                   Henry David Thoreau

Louan Gideon will easily share with you that the most important things in her life are spiritual growth and study, quality family time, creativity in arts and music and enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

“I have yet to find a place that supports me in these particular principles better than Western North Carolina. Add the incredible beauty, exceptional restaurants and vast array of outdoor activities and you have my idea of the perfect place to live.”

Upon graduating from Baylor University, the native Texan moved to Dallas and spent the better part of three years traveling the world on business. She ultimately landed in Manhattan and over the next four years worked steadily as a television actress as well as enjoying a sideline as a Master of Ceremonies for several Fortune 500 Corporate events across the U.S.

Following that, Gideon moved to Beverly Hills where she continued her work in the entertainment industry for 16 years. In 2003 she joined the Sunset Strip office of Coldwell Banker and brokered high-end Westside real estate including the areas of West Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel Air, Pacific Palisades and Malibu.

Since relocating her real estate practice to Asheville in 2006, friends and past clients began calling to enquire about investment opportunities in the surrounding areas. “I found that I could really provide a valuable personal service when it came to answering their questions regarding the luxury communities nearby, so I thought, why not make this my prime area of focus?” she says.

For those clients not interested in these particular communities, she created LuxuryAsheville.com, for buyers and sellers in and around the city of Asheville.

Louan lives on a mountainside outside Asheville with her family and their dog, Duhdley. She also writes children’s books featuring environmental and life lessons.
