Whisper Mountain

Whisper Mountain
The Secret is Out …

OVERVIEW
Welcome to Whisper Mountain, a place where living harmoniously with nature is what living is all about. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a “greener” community out there, as Whisper Mountain’s main theme is “conservation meets preservation” and the community has been chosen as the home of Southern Living's 2008 "green" Idea House. Here, you will discover hundreds of acres of natural amenities, organically accentuating homesites which sometimes soar up to elevations of 3,800 ft.—each one created with full environmental integrity.

Our adherence to a green agenda in all aspects of planning is for the sole purpose of encouraging a higher quality of life for both humanity and our natural surroundings.

We've developed this place in a way that reveres both our natural environment and the history of the area, ensuring that Whisper Mountain will maintain its uniqueness for generations to come. With 270 resplendent acres of mountain streams, spring fed creeks, long range mountain and valley views and miles of well-tended trails, camps and protected areas, there’s always some enticement with which Mother Nature beckons. There are also three beautiful parks and two camp areas for community recreation.

Spend an afternoon relaxing at the owner's lodge, hand-hewn from 160 year old hemlock timbers. Enjoy your latest must-read by the fireplace in our outdoor living room, where you can occasionally rest your eyes with breathtakingly long range views of Mt. Mitchell, Pisgah National Forest and Whisper Mountain's own Double Creek Park. If you’re looking for a little physical challenge or even just to relax, you can enjoy the exercise room, sauna or spa, with decks overlooking Sky Valley Park, beyond which lies 30 miles of awe-inspiring mountains.

Whisper Mountain's location is the picture of convenience. Situated just 25 minutes northwest of Asheville, the community's proximity to adventures ranging from great shopping, music, entertainment and fine dining to outdoor explorations along the rugged Appalachian Trail gives it an alluring advantage. Whether you opt to spend the day at home on Whisper Mountain or embarking on a local excursion, you can be just about anywhere in a matter of minutes.

Here at Whisper Mountain, we have created a lifestyle that treads lightly upon the earth.
